Fee Earners who are no longer with the firm still appear in the list of Fee Earners when setting up matters and this can lead to the wrong fee earner being selected sometimes and an annoyingly long list to select from.  However, they may still be linked to matters and therefore deleting them not practical.  You can now block fee earners from being available to link matters to.  Go to Admin, then references.  That will show the list of fee earners, and the end column has a “Block” button.  If you mark a fee earner as being blocked, they will no longer be available in a list of fee earners on new matters or when time recording.  However, reports by Fee Earner will still show their details if applicable.  Fee Earners can be unblocked later if required.
